David Hodson Director Australia

Originally from the English midlands, David, a naturalised Australian for the past 25 years, is based in our Newcastle N.S.W. office and spends his time helping our trekking and climbing team members prepare for their adventures in the Himalaya.

As our senior western leader, David also helps devise and plan new and innovative treks within Nepal, Tibet, Sikkim and Bhutan.

David's philosophy is simple. To give our members the best possible trekking and mountaineering experience, to keep our members safe and healthy and to see them go home with memories that they will treasure forever.

David's love affair with the mountains began when he was just 7 years old when, along with his cocker spaniel Mack, he climbed his first Welsh peak. Inspired by the success on Mt. Everest of Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary, David never looked back. His mountaineering resume covers climbs on mountains in England, Scotland and Wales, the European alps, the Australian Snowy mountains and the Himalaya.

Operating Skyline Treks & Expedition (P) Ltd. along with business partner Madhav Prasad Pandey, means that we can offer an international level of service to all our trekking and expedition members.

"My first trip to Nepal was for me a life altering experience. The wonderful warmth and generousity of the Nepalese people, their spiritual happiness and shear love of life are infectious. Nepal is now an intregal part of me and me of it, so I have returned here time and again.
It was a natural progression for me to combine my many years in business and my climbing and trekking experiences and bring them together here in Nepal"
