Jiri – Everest Base Camp – Cho La Pass Trek as the closest road-head, Jiri is now the trail head for many treks into the Everest region. It is longest and partly tough trekking route. Only 5 % of dare-devil trekkers attempt the difficult yet the ‘most rewarding’ trek to Everest Base Camp from Jiri. The other 95% choose to fly into the small airstrip at Lukla, thus cutting off a week of difficult but beautiful trekking. The trail head from Jiri into ‘Sagarmatha National Park’ is referred as the ‘classic route to Everest’. All early Everest expeditions—including the one led by John Hunt that put Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary on the summit—passed through Jiri. So Jiri is also called the “Gateway to Mt. Everest”.

Flight notice from Lukla

Nowadays Tribhuvan International Airport is under maintenance to avoid its heavy traffic congestion. So flight to Lukla is only possible through Rammechap 130 km far apart from Kathmandu. According to government authenticity body this will remains until its maintenance accomplishment. We think it doesn’t make you so much difficult because reaching to Rammechap (Manthali Airport) is only about 3-4 hours drive.

Besides of return flight from Lukla, Directly we can manage the arrangement of helicopter flight from Lukla. There is no more than five people in one group. Group cost of flight for Kathmandu should be extra 500 USD per individual. Grouping is made by our representative at Lukla airport immediately, so we request our clients to help us for group arrangement as much as possible. The conformation of preferred alternative helps us to become more reliable.
