As you approach Pisang, the landscape begins to change noticeably from green forests to drier Himalayan terrain influenced by Tibetan culture. Along the route, you enjoy magnificent views of Annapurna II, Pisang Peak, and surrounding mountains.
Pisang is divided into Lower Pisang and Upper Pisang, both known for traditional stone houses, prayer flags, monasteries, and beautiful Himalayan surroundings. After reaching the village, you can relax and enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere.
Pisang trek to Manang (3,540 M/11,614 FT) Distance: 16 KM, Duration: 5-6 Hours.

The higher you go , the more harsh and dry the scenery gets , much like the Tibetan plateau. The trail provides just the right combination of mountain vistas, cultural experience, and tranquil alpine setting.
Upon arrival in Manang, a beautiful mountain settlement surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks, you can relax and prepare for higher elevations in the coming days. Manang is also an excellent place to explore local bakeries, monasteries, and mountain viewpoints.
Manang - Acclimatization Day, 3-4 Km, 2-3 Hours.
Today is an important acclimatization day in Manang to help your body adjust to the increasing altitude before crossing higher mountain passes. Rather than complete rest, the day includes a short hike around the surrounding hills and viewpoints, covering approximately 3–4 km in 2–3 hours.
You may hike to nearby locations such as Gangapurna Lake, Chongkor Viewpoint, or local monasteries, where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, and the surrounding Himalayan landscape. These brief acclimatization treks are aimed at improving your altitude adaptation, but also allowing you to explore the beauty and culture of the Manang Valley.
The rest of the day can be spent relaxing, exploring the village, visiting bakeries, interacting with locals, or learning more about high-altitude trekking preparation. Proper rest, water and nutrition are key as you prepare for the more challenging parts of the Annapurna Circuit ahead.
Manang trek to Yak Kharka (4,050 M/13,288 FT) Distance: 11 KM, Duration: 3 - 4 Hours.

Along the route, you can enjoy magnificent panoramas of Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Chulu Peak, and surrounding snow-covered peaks.
Yak Kharka means “yak pasture.” It’s a quiet, high-altitude village where yaks and other cattle graze throughout the warmer months. The serene mountain surroundings and clean alpine air make it a perfect site to stop and acclimatize more before heading towards Thorong La Pass.

After breakfast, you continue your trek from Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi, the final stop before crossing the famous Thorong La Pass. Today’s trek covers approximately 8 km and takes around 3–4 hours through rugged high-altitude terrain and dramatic Himalayan landscapes.
The trail gradually ascends along narrow mountain paths, crossing suspension bridges and rocky slopes while offering stunning views of surrounding peaks and deep valleys. Due to the increasing altitude, the pace remains slow and steady to support proper acclimatization and conserve energy for the challenging pass crossing ahead.
As you draw near Thorong Phedi the terrain is more sparse and alpine, with towering cliffs and snow-capped peaks everywhere. Thorong Phedi, which means “base of the hill,” is the main resting site for trekkers ready to cross Thorong La Pass early the following morning.
After arriving, you can rest, hydrate, and prepare your gear for the next day’s high-altitude adventure.

You leave Thorong Phedi and slowly catch up on steep and rocky mountain trails towards the pass. Although physically demanding due to the high altitude and thin air, the effort is rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan ranges, snow-covered peaks, glaciers, and dramatic alpine landscapes.
Upon reaching the top of Thorong La Pass at 5,416m, trekkers celebrate this major achievement surrounded by prayer flags and unforgettable Himalayan scenery.

On your journey you will pass traditional villages, ancient Buddhist prayer walls and apple orchards famed in the region. The trail drops away gently, making for easier walking than the high altitude pass of the previous day.
As you approach Jomsom, the landscape becomes broader and more open, with stunning Himalayan scenery surrounding the valley. Jomsom is a lively mountain town known for its unique culture, strong winds, and gateway access to Upper Mustang and the Annapurna region.
