Bara Pokhari and Mimi Pokhari Trekking (4800 m) is situated at the heart of the central north of Himalayan region of Nepal. Bara and Mimi pokhari trekking is a short trek to have close view of the 8000 m. Mt. Manaslu (8163 m) and Himalchuli (7896 m), Dr. Harka Gurung Peak (7871 m), Annapurna region including Manang valley and Lamjung Himal. Mimi Pokhari Lake is the long ridge that stretches southwest from Himalchuli west peak. There are many small other ponds as well. Bara Pokhari lies on this ridge too. Trek to mini pokhari starts from Bhulbhule village on the trail to Manang. We will cross the Marsyangdi River and through the paddies fields and terraces of Gurung villages to the Tamang community and follow the ridge of Bara Pokhari with pristine forest of Rhododendron and bamboos.
The way of return you have alternatives, either descend to Besishar and towards Ghanpokhara through Pass gaon and Begnas Lake, Pokhara, or Descend to Dordikhola towards ancient town of Gorkha with its large bazaar and fort. This route has the attraction of lower altitudes and avoids the extreme elevation gains/losses common to other treks in Nepal. Or return direct to Terai to explore the wildlife sanctuary and the lush subtropical forests at Chitwan National Park.

Bara Pokhari And Mimi Pokhari Trek
We loved that the trails were less crowded compared to other treks. It felt like we were exploring hidden gems off the beaten path.
