Bigu Gompa Trekking Trail is appropriate for trekkers opting for an easy cultural trek, which can be combined with rafting and cycling for more sportive trekkers. The trek starts from Charikot after a day’s bus ride from Kathmandu. It goes along the Tamang, Brahmines and Chhetries villages and lush green forests before terminating at Barhabise, a border town with Tibet.
Bigu Nunnery Monastery (Tashi chhime Gachhal gompa) on the way you will pass the Bigu Gumba, a monastery with nuns only. On the way back, you can choose to raft, cycle, bus ride or combine the events. Rafting is available along the Bhotekoshi river from Barhabise to Dolalghat. You can complete the remaining journey either on a bus or a bi-cycle. You could also choose to complete the entire or part of the return journey on bicycle.
Bigu Gompa Trekking Trail Itinerary
Day 01:Arrival at Tribhuban International Airport (T.I.A) and pick up by our private vehicle and transfer to the Hotel.
Day 02: Full day guided sightseeing in Pashupatinath, Boudhanath and Patan Durbar Square and rest of the time, preparation for trekking. O/N in hotel. (B)
Day 03: Depart pour Charikot (1950 m) to Dolakha (1900 m), avillage of Newar about 6 hrs bus drive and O/N in tent camp. (B, L, D)
Day 04: Dolakha – Piguti (1020 m) 5/6 hrs walk and O/N in hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 05: Piguti – Sarang Khola (1300 m) 5hrs of walk and O/N in hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 06: Sarang Khola – Bigu Gompa (2450 m) 6hrs of walk and O/N in hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 07: Bigu Gompa – Tingsang La (3300 m) 5hrs of walk and O/N in hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 08: Tingsang – Karthali (1900m) 5hrs of walk and O/N near to a village. (B, L, D)
Day 09: Karthali – Arigal Danda – Barabise – Dhulikhel (1700m) 3hrs of walk, 2hrs30min bus drive and O/N near to a village. (B, L, D)
Day 10: Dhulikhel – Namo Boudha – Panauti (1500m) 6hrs of walk and camp on hill “Jogi danda”. (B, L, D)
Day 11: Panauti – Lakuri Bhanjyang (2000m) 5hrs of walk and O/N in hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 12: Lakuri Bhanjyang Godawari – Kathmandu 2hrs of walk up to Godawari and 1hr drive by bus to Kathmandu and rest of the time for shopping (B)
Day 13: Final departure to the airport by our private vehicle. (B)

- All personal gears and group equipment will be carried by porter i.e. (1 porter for 2 clients, one porter carry max 20 kg).
