Everest Circuit Trek as the closest road-head, Jiri is now the trail head for many treks into the Everest region. Only 5 % of dare-devil trekkers attempt the difficult yet the ‘most rewarding’ Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek. The other 95% choose to fly into the small airstrip at Lukla, thus cutting off a week of difficult but beautiful trekking. The trail head from Jiri into ‘Sagarmatha National Park’ is referred as the Everest classic trek ‘classic route to Everest’. All early Everest expeditions—including the one led by John Hunt that put Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary on the summit—passed through Jiri. So Jiri is also called the “Gateway to Mt. Everest”.
Skyline’s Treks from Jiri to Everest Base Camp
We start the Everest Circuit trekking from a bus ride to Jiri from Kathmandu ‘the original trail head to Everest’. The trek passes through Solu Khumbu, Khumbu Valley the homeland of the Sherpa people who migrated from Tibet in the 14th and early 15th century. Then we trek through splendid villages with artistic monasteries in Junbeshi (2675m) passing by Khartung which offers the first view of Mighty Everest. However, the main aim of this trek is to climb up to Kalapathar, which takes over you with the panoramic views of over 65 snow-capped peaks.

Everest Circuit Trekking
The Annapurna base camp trek at 5545 meters was my first ever high altitude trek in the land of Nepal Himalayas and it was purely incredible.
The Skyline Treks team was excellent in their arrangements.
The guide and support staffs were caring and helped me greatly till final day of this trek. Due to my not high fitness level this trek was partly difficult for me.
Special talk about to Mr. Madav Prasad Pandey, the managing director of the trekking club, Hats off to him for arranging such fascinating trekking trails for 10 days. Can’t wait to do next Himalayan trek with Skyline treks and can’t feel relaxed without recommending for such trustworthy trekking company.
