Jumla Juphal Trekking is located in the mid western part of Nepal known as “Ba Yul” in the local dialect or it is also called the hidden valley. Lower Dolpo trekking trip contains a number of interesting villages mostly inhabited by people of Magar & Gurung origins. There are a number of Buddhist and Bon-po temples/monasteries to see along the trekking trail. The legendary hidden land was restricted trekking for years for the international trekkers but it is opened to all since mid-1989.The highest waterfall in Nepal which originates from Phoksumdo Lake can be seen in the Lower Dolpo Trekking.Trekking in Lower Dolpo requires special trekking permit. So we need at least 3 days to complete the provision of making trekking permits. Lower Dolpo trek crosses three relatively high passes; Namu La Pass situates at 5190m, Baga La Pass situates at 5070m and Kugung La Pass, good paths are followed throughout and there is no trekking on glaciers. This trekking starts from Juphal sfter 35 minutes long flight from Neplagunj or from Jumla or/and from Jomsom.
Jumla Juphal trek of Dolpo and Jumla Rara Lake trekking area in Nepal is ideally suited to both beginners and those who have “been everywhere”. You haven’t until you’ve been to Dolpo. The region lies to the west of the Kali Gandaki Valley; Dolpo is located inside the Shey-Phoksundo National Park in mid-western Nepal, behind the Dhaulagiri massif, towards the Tibetan plateau. The region offers opportunities to visit ancient villages, high passes, beautiful Lakes, isolated Buddhist monasteries and also to experience the vast array of wildlife inhabiting the region, including Blue sheep, Mountain Goat, Jackal, Wolf and the legendary Snow Leopard.
