Hidden Gem in Nepal for Serious Trekkers
If you’ve done the typical Himalayan treks and want something deeper, go to Upper Mustang. Skyline Treks were professionals—handling flights, permits, teahouses and unexpected road/air delays with ease. Walking through ancient caves, near-vertical cliffs, and Tibetan-style villages felt like a long-lost journey. The permit costs and logistics might feel steep, but the payoff? Immense.
Remote Trails, Rich Culture, Incredible Views
I was seeking a unique trek—and Upper Mustang delivered. SkyLine Treks organised everything from flying into Jomsom to trekking through wind-blown ridges and visiting tiny high-altitude villages. One highlight: walking along the Kali Gandaki gorge and then arriving at the desert ridge above Lo Manthang. The lodges were basic yet clean, and the value of the experience felt huge in comparison to more crowded trails.
Exploring the Last Forbidden Kingdom
Trekking through the Upper Mustang with Skyline Treks felt like stepping into another world. The dry, dramatic landscapes, multi-coloured cliffs, ancient caves and the walled city of Lo Manthang were unforgettable. Our guide was deeply knowledgeable—it wasn’t just about the scenery, but about the Tibetan-influenced culture and centuries-old traditions of the valley. The permit process was handled smoothly, and I felt safe and supported throughout this remote journey.
Nature and Culture in the High Himalaya
Beyond mountain peaks, this route immersed me in Sherpa villages, monasteries and glacial valleys. With Skyline Treks we trekked from Lukla to Gokyo, rested and enjoyed lakeside serenity, then pressed on to EBC with incredible support. The highlight? Watching sunrise over Everest with the lakes’ reflections still fresh in mind. For a serious trekker this path is gold.
High Altitude, Deep Satisfaction
This trek stretched over 14-15 days with gains over 5,000 m, but every step was worth it. Via Gokyo we got unique perspectives of Everest and the longest Himalayan glacier. Skyline Treks’ team was experienced—ropes, acclimatization days, altimeter checks—they left nothing to chance. Standing on Kala Patthar with the world’s highest peak in front of me is something I’ll never forget.
