A Peaceful Escape Off the Beaten Path

Pathivara was a beautiful surprise. Eastern Nepal feels completely different from the touristy parts — greener hills, slower pace, friendly people. The road-trip across the countryside to Ilam, then the hike through forests to the temple ridge, offered serenity and scenery in equal measure. The moment we reached the shrine and saw Kanchenjunga looming above — breathtaking. The small-town guesthouse, local food, and honest hospitality made the journey feel genuine and grounding. Skyline Treks planned it all well; I felt safe, comfortable and connected with the land.
