Everest Base Camp May/June 2016

In researching our trip to Everest Base Camp we chose to go with Skyline Treks out of Kathmandu. The owner Madhav Pandey was always prompt in answering our questions around the logistics of the trip as well as the day to day details such as what gear is needed and what to expect. There were many trekking companies to chose from and felt the most confident based on the reviews and his promptness.

We booked with Skyline and the trip turned out to be fantastic. It was a college graduation trip for my daughter and I. Madhav met us at the airport with a car/driver and took us to our hotel where we met the guide (Sherpa). Our sherpa was Nima and were very pleased with his knowledge of the mountain, the tea houses and the route. Myself being an old guy with two other mid-20's trekkers, he made me feel like I wasn't the slow guy. We found out that our trek with Nima Sherpa was his 85th trip to EBC. Now that is experience. Other trekkers on the mountain chose to go it alone without the assistance of a Sherpa and they often had to ask directions or took a wrong route that ended up being longer or harder. Book with an experience guide so that you can enjoy your trip.

Our porter "BB" was a delight to have on the journey. He always was smiling and engaging during the evening in the tea houses. I would highly recommend booking with Skyline and if you do, ask for Nima as the Sherpa and BB as the guide. You will be glad you did.
